New Class: Brilliant Backgrounds for Cardmakers

Hello! I'm happy to share that I have a new class over at Big Picture Classes!

Brilliant Backgrounds for Cardmakers is a class designed to focus on the background of cards and really make them shine.  Learn tips and tricks for making fun and unique backgrounds for your cards as we explore different ideas and techniques to give your creations that extra wow factor.

All of my lessons feature Lawn Fawn and/or Neat & Tangled stamps and dies but any supplies in your stash can be used with these techniques and ideas. I have created a "Class Supplies" tab here along the top of the blog with links to some specific products used in class.  I hope that you will consider joining me for class.  I can't wait to see your brilliant card creations!

One In A Chameleon - Black Friday Lawn Fawn Special

Everywhere in the US is having Black Friday sales it seems and Lawn Fawn is no exception.  Now through November 27th you can get free shipping on all US orders and discounted shipping on international orders.  But the best part, as we all know, is the free stamp set!  This little chameleon can come home and live at your house too with orders of $35 or more, spend $60 and get the coordinating dies.  How cute is he?  My immediate reaction when I saw this set was to figure out how to make him change colors as chameleons do.  So today I have a fun spinner card with a window cut out where this little guy can change to all the colors of the rainbow!

I stamped the image on acetate and placed it behind a die cut window so that only the chameleon is where the color shows through.

And as an added bonus I made a video tutorial too! Full disclosure I was kind of experimenting as I went and I wish I had kept my card standard size so the wheel would spin better but I will know that for next time.  Check out the video below or on my YouTube channel HERE.

Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn Blog for more inspiration with this little set and visit lawnfawn.com to place your order and get your One In A Chameleon set by November 27th.

On another note I have a new class coming next week to Big Picture Classes! Brilliant Backgrounds for Cardmakers starts November 27th.  I really had fun with these lessons and I hope you will come join me in class!

Ellen Hutson 11th Anniversary Blog Hop

Hello! Today I'm happy to be joining some other fabulous designers to celebrate Ellen Hutson's 11th Anniversary! You should be arriving from Michele's blog, but if not you can start at the beginning of today's hop in the CLASSroom. On this hop we are featuring our favorite Essentials by Ellen sets.  I wanted to use the cute little deer from the Oh Deer set along with some images from Wonky Backdrops.

I stamped the deer with staz-on ink onto brown wool felt from Taylored Expressions and used the coordinating dies to cut the felt. I backed the felt cut outs with die cut cardstock for more stability.  I stamped the starry wonky background in two ink colors to create a sky and set the scene. I stamped the line that looks like grass in copper Delicata ink and used Doe ink for the sentiment.

The next stop on the hop is Ardyth Percy-Robb. Be sure to check out the hop all week long!

Fawny Holiday Week: Advent Christmas Tree Calendar

Hello! It's that time of year again, it's Fawny Holiday Week with Lawn Fawn! This week the Design Team is sharing holiday projects along with members of the Lawn Fawnatics Design Team and Lawn Fawn Headquarters Team.

Today I'm sharing how to create a Christmas Tree Advent Calendar using the gift box die.

Here is a close up.  Unlike the same project I made a couple months ago this project uses all die cuts for the numbers rather than stamping.  I just wanted to show a different option for how to decorate the boxes.

Check out the video tutorial below to see exactly how to construct this advent tree project. You can watch the video below or check it out HERE on my YouTube channel.

Also be sure and visit the Lawn Fawn Blog all week long for more holiday project inspiration!
