Lawn Fawn + Tombow Blog Hop

Welcome to your next stop on the Lawn Fawn & Tombow Blog Hop.  If you came from Nichol's blog then you are in the right place.  There is a list of all the stops along the hop at the bottom of this post if you missed any.

For my card I used the Dual Brush Markers with water to create the background.  I created the background by watercoloring in layers using the markers.  For my first layer I wet the watercolor paper first then added the marker ink by scribbling it on the blending palette then picking it up with a wet paintbrush.  I added the drops of ink to the wet background to add a light layer all over the paper. Once my first layer was dry I scribbled some areas on the top portion of the paper then added water but stopped 1/3 of the way down the piece creating a diagonal line between the two layers.  Once dry I did the same with my third and final layer.  I used more marker in darker colors for the very top stripe of sky.  After all my layers were in place I flicked some drops of water on it to create the starry sky.  This piece really started as an experimentation on what I could do with these markers but I liked where it was going to I just went with it!

The images themselves are also colored with the Tombow Dual Brush markers using both a water brush as well as the blending marker to blend my colors together.  I didn't have a grey marker but using the black with lots of water made a very nice grey color.   I added some gold stamped stars and matted everything with a black stitched rectangle. I used Tombow Extreme adhesive to adhere down my large rectangle pieces.  I love that this stuff really sticks and it is what I used for almost all my large background pieces.  It especially works well when you have something like a watercolored piece that may be a little warped and not perfectly flat.

The last stop on this hop is the Tombow Blog.  If you missed any of the designers along the way there is a complete list below.  Thanks for stopping by, have an amazing day!
