Hello! I hope your weekend is going well. We are having nice weather for a rare change this weekend, but I don't expect it to last long. I wanted to share a card that I made a couple weeks ago when I got a snow day from work. I had had this card sketched out for awhile in my sketchbook but hadn't had the time to sit down and make it. I guess snow can be good for something every now and then.
While I was at home in the snow I watched all the birds having a feeding frenzy at my bird feeders, including a couple bright red cardinals. That was my inspiration to finally create this card. I used the twiggy tree and resting birds dies from Memory Box along with the Stitched journaling card from Lawn Fawn to create my scene. I cut the journaling card from Gumball blue card stock and the tree from Candy Bar brown card stock. I cut out lots of the little birds from white card stock (so now I have them when I want them) and just colored the one I wanted with a red copic marker.
I stamped the white card base using the Hero Arts Tiny Star Background stamp and Soft Sky shadow ink for a light subtle pattern. The snowy ground is white card stock covered in Rock Candy Distress Glitter which I adhered down with Glossy Accents. The tree is covered in glitter snow and the bird has a coat of Red Stickles for another pop of shimmer.
On another note…
Have you seen the newest class at Studio Calico? It's called Stitched and it is taught by Paige Evans. I think it looks totally awesome and I can't wait to take it next month!
The class has a great kit to go along with it as well as die cut files and printables, including a cool printable stitching template! And if you sign up for class you can get 50% off an other past monthly kit they have in stock. Check out the Stitched Class page for details on that.
Also, today only you can get 30 digitals for $30 at Studio Calico. Check out more info on that HERE.
Thanks for stopping by today!
