I'm joining in the Studio Calico CHA crop today with Challenge #9, using a card sketch. Here is the sketch to play along with.
And here is my card using elements from both the Copper Mountain Card kit as well as the Spaulding Bowl add-on kit.
I first cut a card base from the navy blue card stock included in the main kit. I choose the yellow pattern paper for my main panel because it has a subtle pattern and would not distract from the other elements. I used the wide ribbon as a panel element as well to add some texture.
I also used some of the teal ribbon from the add-on kit to add texture as well. I tucked it behind the pattern paper panel and cut the ends in a fish tale shape to mimic the zig zag pattern in the wide ribbon.
The wide ribbon also creates a nice place for the sentiment to be framed. I scattered some of the faceted gems from the add-on kit around and finished it off with the star button with a little gold floss threaded through. I hope you play along with me on this card sketch challenge as well as the other challenges during the Studio Calico CHA crop.
