Blog Hop with CardMaker Magazine

Hello Friends!
Today I'm hopping along with the Lawn Fawn design team and CardMaker Magazine.  You should be arriving from Jennie's Blog.  If you would like to hop along you can start at the beginning at the CardMaker Blog.  Here is a card I created using the new Daphne's Closet collection and matching stickers.

I used one of the journaling stickers to create a frame for my sentiment and embellished the stickers with stickles and glossy accents.  I also popped the elements up with foam adhesive to give them more dimension.  Now head on over to Melanie's blog to see what she has designed!

Pattern Play #2

Today I have another card from the Pattern Play class at Online Card Classes.  I mixed some papers from different companies and paper pads for this one and did some paper piecing inspired by Jen's card from class.

I finally found a way to use the blue jean with stitched grid paper from the My Mind's Eye On the Bright Side pad.  I love the paper but it's hard to use because of the size of the image.  But I think this works and has a nice look to it.  The yellow is from the Indie Bloom collection from Basic Grey and the red paper is from My Mind's Eye Blink of an Eye Six By Six pad.   The blue and green paper are both from the same Bright Side pad as the blue jean.

Pattern Play #1

So for once I finally got around to making some cards based on the lesson in Online Card Class, granted it did take me a week. :)  I love pattern paper but I am not very good about using it sometimes so that's why I thought the newest class Pattern Play would be a good ones for me to take.

For Day 1 "homework" I got out the Darling Dear paper pad from Studio Calico and flipped through it to find 3 papers that I could use together, a big pattern, medium pattern and a small pattern.  This is what I came up with.

Since I picked one of the patterns with word bubbles I used the Lawn Fawn A Birdie Told Me set and matching dies for my sentiment elements.  I inked the edge of the green piece so that it would stand out against the kraft card base better as well.

Thanks for stopping by!

Home Sweet Home

I hope everyone is having a nice weekend, our is a little cold.  It was 60 last weekend and I was glad to see spring coming but in typical Western NC style it got cold and even snowed this week.  Blergh! Anyway, today I wanted to share another card using the Home Sweet Home set from Lawn Fawn.  Kelly shared this card on the Lawn Fawn Blog earlier this week.

I love all the images in this set, they are just so cute, but I think the little nest of eggs and this particular shaped house might be my favorite.  This card is some simple stamping, building the scene, and some easy copic coloring.  I added some stickles to the house and used my white gel pen for shine accents on the eggs.

Thanks for stopping by!  Have a great weekend!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Sharp Backdrops

It's the final day of Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week and we are featuring the newest background builder set Sharp Backdrops.  This set has trendy arrows and triangle patterns.

I clear embossed the arrow pattern diagonally on Neenah solar white card stock then played with some Dylusions ink sprays to create a fun emboss resist background.  I sprayed a mixture of pure sunshine and squeezed orange with a little spray of vibrant turquoise at the bottom right corner.  I used the word bubble die from the new A Birdie Told Me lawn cuts to cut out a window in the inked panel, then I stamped the coordinating bubble inside the window.  The sentiment is from So Much To Say and I colored the accent arrows using Dylusions spray inks as well (crushed grape, london blue, bubblegum pink & vibrant turquoise), I love the vibrant colors!

Be sure to stop by the Lawn Fawn Blog to see more "sharp" projects with this background set and check out the giveaway there too!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Home Sweet Home

Back again for day three of Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week.  Today we are featuring the sweet set Home Sweet Home and matching Lawn Cuts.  I just love the images in this set, the sweet little birds and the houses are just too cute!

For this card I stamped and die cut one of the house images to create a row of houses for a We Moved card.  I used papers from both Daphne's Closet and Pink Lemonade petite paper pads.  I white embossed the clouds from Bon Voyage for the sky and finished it off with some Pink Lemonade Lawn Trimmings.

Check out the Lawn Fawn Blog for more fabulous design team projects using this sweet little set.  Oh and as always I'm sure there is a giveaway there as well!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Daphne's Closet

Day two of Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week, and today we are featuring the Daphne's Closet collection.  This collect is full of sweet soft colored papers that are perfect for spring or any time or year.

I made another little notebook using a cheap mini composition book from Target.  I covered it using paper from the petite paper pack and elements from the matching sticker sheet.  The hearts were cut with the heart lawn cuts out of felt.  I covered the yellow sticker in glossy accents to make a custom embellishment and added stickler accents to the tiny flowers.  These are both great ways to get more looks from your stickers.

Check out the Lawn Fawn Blog for more projects from the Design Team featuring Daphne's Closet.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: So Much To Say

It's that time again...time for Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week! Today we are featuring the new sentiment set So Much to Say.  I love that the sentiments in this set are a little bigger and come in different styles.  Here is my creation using this great set.

I created the "you're awesome" backgroud with tide pool ink on Robin's Egg card stock.  I decorated the balloons by clear embossing the star image from this set.

Be sure to check out the Lawn Fawn Blog for more projects from the Design Team using this set and I'm sure Kelly has a giveaway going on there as well. :)

Hearts into Clovers

So I finally have the new Lawn Fawn Lawn Cuts dies in the house and I couldn't be more excited! It's so awesome that these new dies match stamp sets but one of my favorites that I couldn't wait to get in my hot little hands was the set of hearts.  However the first projects I made with them didn't use them as traditional hearts at all.

I know St. Patrick's day is 10 days away but I thought I would go ahead and share the idea of making shamrocks out of these super cute die cut hearts.

Just love these hearts.  Thanks for stopping by today!

Neat & Tangled Release: Thinking of You

Back again today with another new Neat & Tangled set, Thinking of You.  I love the cloud shape in this set and the swirly font of the sentiment.

For this card I played a little with my mists that I tend to forget about sometimes.  I should use them more often because I like the look it gives, color but with some texture too.

Please visit the Neat & Tangled Blog to see more projects from the Design Team using this sweet little mini set.

Neat & Tangled Release: On the Strip 2

Hi Friends!
It's time for the next Neat & Tangled release! Today I have a couple cards featuring On the Strip 2.  If you liked On the Strip you will love this set that is great for creating borders or a washi tape look on your projects.  This newer set has some different widths and includes some solid strips too, perfect for trying some solid stamping techniques.  I used one of the solid stripes to try my hand at a stamped plaid on the heart.

For my second card I drew from my many years as a cross stitcher and used the dot pattern strip to create a grid for a little sewing.

I stamped the dot strip 4 times right next to each other, this did take some patience to line it up but the grey shadow ink blended beautifully to hide the seams. I sketched out the heart on a scrap piece of paper to figure out the stitching before piercing the holes for my thread.

Be sure you visit the Neat & Tangled Blog today to see other projects from the Design Team using this awesome new set!

Sweet Notebook

Hello Friends.
I wanted to share a little notebook that Kelly Marie actually shared on the Lawn Fawn blog last week.  I covered a little inexpensive composition book with pink lemonade papers and stickers.

I added stickles to accent the stickers.  Glossy accents over the round stickers give a faux flair look and some extra shine.

Thanks for stopping by today, have a happy Monday!
