Happy Birthday Linda!

Hi All!
Today I'm celebrating my dear friend Linda's Birthday along with some other talented ladies.  It may not be her birthday here in the U.S. yet but it is in Australia and we wanted to be sure she had something extra special to wake up to on her birthday.

Linda I hope you have a very special birthday!  You are a shining star and I'm so happy to call you my friend.  By the way I will be sending this card to you a little late, so when it does finally arrive in Australia I give you permission to celebrate your birthday all over again. :) HUGS!

Young Crafter Unite Challenge #17

Time again for another Young Crafters Unite! Challenge.  This month we are focusing on "Something Sweet" so I inked up the new Here's the Scoop set from Lawn Fawn, it's full of sweet images!

I stamped and cute out 6 ice creams on white cardstock and colored the cones with copics.  The scoop is paper pieced from patterns from the Bright Side petite paper pack.  I embellished each scoop with a little stardust stickles "sprinkles" and tied some strawberry twine around the scoop.

Christmas Tags

Hello! I hope everyone is staying warm, it got very cold in WNC today.  Brrrr! I have a couple tags I made for gifts to share today.  One is cut from a reject piece that was left over from when I made THIS card. The other was just sort of experimental but turned out rather lovely. :)

For the tag on the left I captured the snow dots background stamp under clear embossing of the starburst background.  Then I applied distress ink to the not embossed areas.  The wood veneer trees I colored with metallic distress stains (antique bronze on large tree and tarnished brass for small tree).  Over top of the stain I put copper stickles for the big tree & cinnamon stickles for the small one. And finally I finished it off with some dots of platinum stickles and coppery tinsel twine.

The tag on the right I die cut from pattern paper and inked with festive berries distress ink.  I then stamped the flourish tree with tarnished brass & brushed pewter.  The wood veneer snowflakes are colored with brushed pewter stain and then a layer of silver stickles.  I finished it off applying some silver stickles around the edges and into the center some using my finger and then some silver tinsel twine.

Lawn Fawn + Faber Castell Week

Hi Friends,
This week the Lawn Fawn design team is teaming up with Faber Castell.  I used some of the metallic products for my project.

I used a silver gelato and with a touch of gold gelato in the corners on the piece of canvas and blended them with water to smooth them out.  The frame was hand drawn with a gold & copper artist pens.  The tree from Critters in the Forest is white embossed on green card stock then embellished with the silver artist pen and red sequins.  I added tiny silver gems to the centers of the sequins to finish them off and then of course a lawn trimmings peppermint twine bow for the top. :)

Lawn Fawn + May Arts

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Here's the Scoop

Hi Friends,

It's inspiration week for a mini Valentine's release from Lawn Fawn, the first set we are featuring is a fun ice cream themed set called Here's the Scoop!

I created some fun projects that could be for Valentine's day or any day of the year.  The jar is a jelly jar, I "inked" the lid with silver alcohol ink to cover up all the writing and wrapped the jar with some paper.  The twine around the lid is adhered down with double sided adhesive strip.  The rosette could be used as the front of a card, a tag on a package or to decorate some other type of container.  I wish I could have found ice cream flavored jelly beans for my jar, I will have to be on the look out for them.  :)
