Young Crafters Unite! Challenge #13 Hot Trends

Hi Friends!
Today is the next installed me of the Young Crafters Unite Challenge, and this month we are taking on the Hot Trends in the crafting world right now.

For my card I focused on the hot trends of washi tape & hexagons.

Chari_13

The hexagons are die cut from a piece of kraft cardstock layered with leafy washi tape.  The background panel is kraft cardstock embossed with tea dye distress ink applied to it.

Be sure you check out all the other amazing design team creations and all the challenge details at the Young Crafters Unite! blog including the amazing prize up for grabs.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Check This Out

Hello! Today is our last day of inspiration week and we are featuring the new set Check This Out! This new set coordinates with the Dewey Decimal collection.  For CHA one of the make & takes was a bookmark I designed so for my project I decided to revisit my bookmark and kick it up a notch.

CheckThisOut_Bookmark

The library card stamp is embossed in black on pattern paper from the petite paper pack then cut out and adhered to a kraft base.  The tassle is made from Lawn Trimmings twine, I just separated the strands after they were looped through the hole to create the finer crinkle look.

Be sure you stop by the Lawn Fawn Blog to see the rest of the projects for today by the Design Team and leave a comment to win today's giveaway!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Hoppy Halloween

Hi everyone, back for day 3 of Lawn Fawn's August Inspiration Week.  Today we are featuring one of my favorite sets from the new release...Hoppy Halloween.  How cute is that little vampire bunny?

HoppyHalloween

I made a card similar to this for CHA but now that I'm home with all my supplies I redid it with a little more sparkle. :) The background is created using the new interlocking backdrops set in grey ink. I colored between the bricks with a very light grey copic and accented with stickles in the color Firefly.  I created the purple glitter card base using fine glitter on a double sided adhesive sheet.

"Hop" on over to the Lawn Fawn blog to see the rest of the great projects using this set as well as a chance to win some cuteness of your very own! :)

Thanks for hopping by today!

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Dewey Decimal

Hi Everyone, I'm back with another day of Lawn Fawn Inspiration. Today we are focusing on the new paper collection Dewey Decimal.  This collection has a library theme with lots of fun patterns and fall colors.  For my project I took a tiny composition book and transformed it into a decorative little note book with matching pen that would be perfect to keep in your purse or car to write things down on.

The spine of the notebook was covered layers of orange washi tape from Target.  I used Claudine Hellmuth Studio multi-medium in matte to adhere down the paper to the front & back of the notebook. All papers used on this project are from the Dewey Decimal Petite Paper Pack.  The letters on the front are Acorn Brown Narrators stickers & the typewriter is from the dewey decimal sticker sheet (I just cut around it rather than using the circle shape)

Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn Blog and comment for a chance to win as well as check out the other fabulous things created by the design team using this new paper collection. :)

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Happy Everything & A Birdie Told Me

Hello Friends, it's Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week! Today we are featuring 2 sets, A Birdie Told Me & Happy Everything.  We are featuring these two sets together because they work together wonderfully. The great collection of sentiments in Happy Everything fit into the speech bubbles in A Birdie Told Me.  How fabulous is that?? Here is what I created using these two great sets!

BirdieBday

I clear embossed a bunch of the speech bubbles on Neenah white cardstock then applied Wild Honey, Picked Raspberry & Peacock Feathers distress inks to create the bright background.  The white bubble & sentiments are embossed in black and the little birdie is colored with copics.

Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn Blog to see the rest of the fab creations by the Design Team and if I know Kelly there is a giveaway going on as well! :) Go check it out!

10 Minute Craft Dash

Hi Everyone!
Today I'm happy to be helping my sweet friend Paulina introduce a new crafty challenge, the 10 Minute Craft Dash!  I will be honest I'm a very slow crafter so this was certainly a challenge for me. I planned & sketched out my idea before starting. I did forget to actually start a clock so I'm estimating this took me about 8-9 minutes to create.

CraftDash

I started by misting the camera & arrows first so they could dry before I had to glue them on. And rather than fussy cutting shapes I decided to go with some circles cut out with a punch to speed up the process.
I used stamps from one of the new Lawn Fawn sets A Birdie Told Me (available August 23rd) as well as Say Cheese & Say Cheese Too.

Here are a few details about the challenge...The challenge begins today and will run until August 25th at 11:59 PST.  There is a sampler pack of yummy twine up to win as well.  You can visit Paulina's blog www.prettypinkposh.com for more details as well as links to some other designers helping kick off this challenge!

2013 Calendar - Part 2

Hello Everyone!
I'm back to share the second half of my SRM sticker calendar with you today.  Thank you for all the comments and questions yesterday! I wanted to point out that the calendars themselves are the stickers that I used from SRM stickers, and I have added a link in the supply list to this item.  I put them on a small piece of white cardstock cut to the same size as the sticker. I didn't take pictures or make a video of how I made the calendar base but I can put that one my to do list for those of you interested.  It was very simple actually, it is made out of scored chipboard to create a tent like structure with the corrugated paper is only adhered to the front.

Okay on to the second half...

2013 Calendar - Part 1

Hi Friends!
Last week the Fawnie girls had a little collaboration with SRM stickers.  Due to my annual cousins camping trip (this was our 20th year!) and a little spill I took while I was camping (don't worry I'm alright, just a little skinned up thanks to a run in with some gravel) I didn't quite get finished in time to share my project on Friday.  So I finished it up over the weekend and I'm here to share some of  it with you today (and the rest tomorrow). Each month started as a white piece of cardstock (cut to 4.25" x 4.25") so you can see I did a lot of distress ink blending on each of these. I discovered some great ink combinations along the way too. I also used a lot of different Lawn Fawn stamp sets so I will list them below each photo. So without further ado...on to the project!

The 2013 is stamped with Quinn's 123s and the tabs on each month were created with Say Cheese Too (this was my first time inking those month words up!).  All of my images I colored with copic markers. I will be back to share the rest of the months tomorrow, I didn't want to overwhelm you after all :)

Neat & Tangled: Little Tangles

Release Week Banner

Hello! I'm back again with another day of Neat & Tangled cuteness. Today I am featuring the set Little Tangles, a background set with some great patterns.

LittleTangles_chari

I think this loopy design is my favorite in the set so that is what I picked to feature.  The striped washi tape is double layered with the stripes offset to keep the green color showing and block the yellow from showing through the white. The butterfly is a Studio Calico chipboard shape embossed with pink embossing powder all over and silver embossing powder with the zig zag stamp.  The sentiment is from the Just Hello set.

All the Neat & Tangled stamps are one sale starting TODAY! Yay! Visit the online store at neatandtangled.com to purchase some for yourself.  And be sure to visit the blog at neatandtangled.blogspot.com to see the other great projects featuring today's set!

Neat & Tangled: Halloween Scene

Release Week Banner

Hello everyone! I'm very excited today to be helping out my dear friend Danielle announce her new stamp line! Yes that's right Danielle has designed her own line of stamps, I'm so very proud of her. :)  Introducing Neat & Tangled!  I am honored to be a part of her team and today I am featuring the set, Halloween Scene.  This is a super fun Halloween set with some very cute images. :)

HalloweenScene_chari

I opted to stick with the cute ghost, and of course make him sparkle. :) The background pattern is clear embossed with the "boo" sentiment in this set and of course it wouldn't be complete without a sparkling moon.

All of the Neat & Tangled stamps will be available in the online shop for purchase beginning Friday August 10 at neatandtangled.com. But for now you can pop on over to the blog at neatandtangled.blogspot.com and see the rest of the design teams creations featuring this set.  There are some giveaways going on this week there as well.  Today's giveaway is a sample pack of twine from the Twinery, so go check it out and leave some comment love for Danielle!

The Olympic Rings

Hi Everyone! I hope you are all enjoying the Olympics as much as I am.  My favorite thing to watch is gymnastics, I'm always amazed at what those girls can do.  Today I have a simple card with an Olympic theme.  This card is a great example of how to stretch your stamps.  I used a stamp from a Halloween set to make this.  There is a video tutorial over on the Lawn Fawn blog showing how I made this card (including my decision to go back and add stickles! I know you are all shocked!) You can also view the video HERE on Lawn Fawn's YouTube channel.
