Hoppy Birthday!

Hi everyone,
I wanted to share another card I made with the new Critters Down Under set from Lawn Fawn. By the way all the new release sets are available today at! Woo Hoo! :)

The kangaroo is colored with copics & the trees are paper pieced. I added glossy accents to the leaves. The striped background was made using another new set, Belinda's Borders. I love this set, great borders that can also be used to create patterns as well.  By the way, my Operation Write Home card (which you can find HERE) also used a stamp from Belinda's.

Thank you all so much for the Birthday Wishes yesterday! And Big Huge Thank you to all the girls who got together and had a blog hop for my birthday! I was super surprised and very grateful. It was so sweet. If you didn't see the hop you can check it out starting on THIS post on Danielle's Blog. There really are some talented ladies in this group, you will leave super inspired as I did.  Thanks so much Danielle, Linda, Mary Dawn, Stephanie, Joy, Kelly Marie, Lynnette, Melissa, Britta, Marie & Yainea!

Thanks for stopping by!

Hi everyone, today is the last day of Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week but we have a great set to share, Critters Down Under! The critters in this set are super cute and I know you are all going to love it.

I stamped the tree image in Grass Chalk Ink on the yellow card base to create a subtle background for my critters.  The crocs & bird are colored with copics and cut out.  I used the bow image from Love n' Breakfast for the girl crocodile.

Head on over to the Lawn Fawn Blog to see the rest of today's fabulous projects from the Design Team and comment for a chance to win a Critters Down Under set of your very own! :)

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Make Lemonade

It's day three of inspiration week and today we are featuring a fun mini set perfect for summer called Make Lemonade!  I just love the images in this little set, super fun & festive for the summer season.

When life hands you lemons make a shaker card. :) I stamped the lemon image with Poppy chalk ink to create a custom tone on tone patterned panel.  The images inside the shaker are colored with copics and I used bright sides papers from the large 12x12 collection pack to make the shaker & banner.

Be sure to visit the Lawn Fawn blog if you haven't already and see what the rest of the design team created for today! And there are giveaways going on all week, so be sure to comment for a chance to win!

Welcome back for day two of Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week!  Today we are featuring a new set all about Dad called Dad's Day.  This set is perfect for those hard to make masculine cards. :)

I clear embossed the solid image of the necktie onto pattern paper then went over it with marker to create and inverse image.

Lawn Fawn Inspiration Week: Sunny Skies

Hello! It's May Inspiration Week with Lawn Fawn! There are 7 new stamp sets being released on the 31st and today we are featuring one of my favorites from the new release.  Although truthfully I like all the new sets and I am excited to finally start sharing them with you!

Today's stamp set is Sunny Skies, it's a super cute set for summer!  I decorated a glittery notebook I picked up at the craft store with the sun & clouds from the set.

One fun thing about this set is the smiley faces are separate stamps from the other images so you can add them or use them without very easily.  For the hearts I used stamps from My Silly Valentine & My Cup of Tea.

Be sure the check out the other beautiful creations from the rest of the Design Team on the Lawn Fawn Blog and comment for a chance to win.  Kelly has lots of giveaways going on this week! :)

Operation Write Home

Today Lawn Fawn is participating in Operation Write Home's Memorial Day blog hop! Here is the card I made for today's hop.

I just got some new nesting hexagon dies and had fun breaking them in with this card. I used one of the smaller sizes to cut hexagons from the Bright Side Petite Paper Pack and arrange them on matching Whirlpool Bazzill cardstock. (HERE is a link to the Bazzill Matchmaker colors for the Bright Side papers) The teeny tiny background hearts are stamped with the new Toffee Crunch Memento ink color which has a perfect tone on tone look on kraft paper. I used a new Lawn Fawn stamp on this card as well! Sneaky sneaky!!!! :)  I love this new set and I think you all will too!

Visit the Lawn Fawn blog to participate in the OWH hop (I believe Kelly has a giveaway!).

Young Crafters Unite! Challenge #10

It's that time again, time for another Young Crafters Unite! Challenge.  This month's challenge is Flowers!

For my card I white heat embossed this stamp from the Hero Arts Untitled Love set on white cardstock then colored over it with Memento markers.  The background is one of my favorite Hero Arts background stamps, Magical Background.  It is stamped in blue and the card is finished off with some ribbon, gems & a little stickles on the flowers.

Be sure you check out all the other amazing design team creations and all the challenge details at the Young Crafters Unite! blog including the amazing prize up for grabs.

A $25 Gift Certificate to Simon Says Stamp!

I'm also playing along with my friends at A Blog Named Hero Dust 'em Off challenge with this card, I just got this stamp set so it hasn't really collected "dust" but I think it applies! :)

Hi Friends, today I want to share a simple card that features one of my favorite new background stamps! I have had this stamp for a little while and I have used it, but I haven't been able to share that project because it got picked up for publication! Woo-hoo! So I have a new card with it to share instead.

I have wanted to make a card that highlights the stars in this stamp for awhile, so when I got the new Many Birthday Messages set and saw this sentiment I knew it would be perfect.

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Happy Mother's Day - Final Cut

Happy Wednesday! I am back to share my last Mother's Day card that I made this past weekend.  This one uses some flower embellishments which I don't typically use, but they came as a free gift with an order of supplies so I thought I would give them a try.  This card was made for my Mamaw.

I clear embossed the background image on some pattern paper the applied Peacock Feathers distress ink over top to give it a tone on tone look. Seriously if you haven't checked it out the new Spring seasonal distress inks you need to, the colors are lovely.  I can't wait to make something with the rest of the colors in the pack!

Thanks for stopping by today! :)

Happy Mother's Day - Take 2

Yes Mother's Day has come and gone but I had three wonderful women to make cards for this year so I'm here today to share the card I made for my Mom (yesterday's card was for my Granny in case you were wondering). I recently got this flower stamp from Hero Arts and wanted to use it on a card so here is what I came up with!

I embossed the images in black then blended the whole panel with distress inks in Scattered Straw, Mustard Seed & Wild Honey.  I then used a Dried Marigold distress marker to color in the petals over top the distress inks.  I wanted a hint of bright red in there too. I felt my Barn Door distress marker was not bright enough so I used Festive Berries along with a Blender pen to color in some red in the petals as well.  The flowers are accented with some rock candy distress stickles.

Hope your week is off to a nice start, thanks for stopping by! :)

Happy Mother's Day

I hope all the Moms out there have a very happy Mother's Day.  I made three Mother's Day cards for my Mom, and two grandmothers.  I wanted to share one of them today and will share the others this coming week.

I embossed the Delicate Blossoms stamps in black on water color paper then played with distress markers to color the image as well as the background.  This panel was actually the first thing I colored with my distress markers when I got them and it has been sitting on my desk waiting to be used. I chose to use a very sheer ribbon so that the image could be seen through it. Thanks for stopping by, have a fantastic day!

I also found out from Ryann and Renee that Ribbon Carousel has 25 sheet packs of single colors in stock for purchase, you can find the listing HERE.  They also have a sampler pack that contains 3 sheets of each color, you can find that listing HERE. And it appears they have a 30% off coupon going on until May 14! Just use coupon code Mom30 (you can find this coupon info on their main page).

I hope you all have a lovely weekend and a Happy Mother's Day! :)

Every little thing...

Hello! Today I have a bright happy card to share that uses washi tape! I do love washi tape but will admit I basically collect and hoard it. I am taking the Studio Calico Washi Workshop in June so hopefully I will learn some awesome ways to use it. In the mean time...I cut out this heart covered in wood grain washi tape awhile back and it has been moving around my desk ever since. So I decided I had stared at it long enough and I needed to make something with it. Here is what I created!

I didn't really have a plan for this card when I started which is unusual for me but I just wanted to play! So it started with the wood grain tape heart and went from there. I don't yet have the cloud punches that match my cloud stamps so I had to cut them out by hand. I did just order them however from of all places (best price I found online, the x-large punch was cheaper than the large, go figure). I was super pleased with how it all turned out, especially not knowing what exactly I was going for. :) Thanks for stopping by today!

Happy Little Banners

Hello Friends!  I have another card to share today that uses the new Bazzill Card Shoppe card stock.  If you saw my post yesterday you know that this card stock is meant for card makers and the description from Bazzill says it will hold up to misting & embossing.  Yesterday's card featured dry embossing & some die cutting.  Today's card has some heat embossing and misting action.

The misting I did on this card wasn't a full on spray (I will have to test that out later) because I wanted a more confetti type look.  So I simply unscrewed the spray top and tapped it with my finger, so the liquid that was left on the tube that goes inside the bottle created flecks of color.  You could do this with a paint brush as well if you preferred.  For the banners I cut out 1 inch square pieces out of the various colors and stamped and embossed them individually.  You could stamp all five at once on one piece and emboss them together but I was attempting to line up the chevrons on each flag.  The pennants were stamped on the card base in grey as a go by for where to place each flag, and I just hand drew the extensions of the string with a grey marker.

Be sure to comment on yesterday's post HERE for a chance to win a variety pack of the Bazzill Card Shoppe cardstock.

Card Shoppe by Bazzill

Hi Everyone, I hope your Monday is starting out better than mine. I left my breakfast at home this morning...whoops! But I know your day is going to be better because I have something fun to share today.  Lawn Fawn teamed up with the Bazzill Matchmaker program to bring you a list of Bazzill card stock colors that match the Lawn Fawn Bright Side paper line. You can check that out HERE. Bazzill also has a new card stock line and was kind enough to send me a variety pack of their new Card Shoppe card stock to play with.  It's 100lb card stock with a smooth finish and after playing with it and making a few things I can say from experience it is great for card making!  It comes in 8.5" x 11" sheets in 28 colors with fun candy themed names.

Because I know I have a lot of card making bloggy friends that have looked for different alternatives for card stock I did a video comparing the colors of this line to Papertrey ink colors as well as some Hero Hues layering paper colors.  The video is kind of long so if you aren't interest in color comparison then feel free to skip it. :)

Here is the color chart from Bazzill, The colors on this image look closer to me than the one that came printed in my package so this is a good reference.

I made a few cards using this new card stock and I really like it.  I will be sharing them this week on the blog starting today. On this one I tried some die cutting and dry embossing and it worked wonderfully.

Now for the fun part...Bazzill not only sent me a pack of Card Shoppe paper to play with but they also sent me a pack to give away! Leave a comment on this post by 5:00 EST on Friday May 11 and I will pick one person to win this fabulous pack of paper.

Also if anyone comes across a place to buy it online please let me know.  I did find it at available for purchase by individual sheets.

Flying By

It's Friday, the weekend is finally here! I hope you all have some fun plans for the weekend.  We are going to see The Avengers movie! Here is a fun little card I made using the Lawn Fawn flying by mini set.

I didn't use the wavy trail from the set but I used the dashed line from the Bon Voyage set instead, this allowed me to shape my flight trails however I wanted so they all looked different from each other.
Have a happy weekend!

Paisley Smile

It's one day closer to the weekend, yay! Today I have a different kind of card to share. I love the new sketchbook line from Amy Tangerine and I especially love the Paisley Patterned paper. But as a card maker I wasn't sure what to do with it, I certainly didn't want to cover it up with images and stamps. So I decided to do a little coloring, not with markers or pencils but with stickles! I picked colors that were bright and cheery and used the paisley doodles as my coloring book.

I added a simple sentiment banner being sure not to cover up any of the pretty design. Simple and sparkly!

On another note...I signed up for The Washi Workshop class at Studio Calico yesterday.I haven't taken a class with Studio Calico before so I am looking forward to it. I have a stash of washi tape that I love but don't seem to use very often so I hope I will get some great ideas and inspiration from this class.
Thanks for popping in today! :)

Flamingo Thanks

Popping in with a quick post featuring a fun thank you card.  I used the Lawn Fawn Bright Side papers along with some fun misting to create this card.

I'm still very much a novice when it comes to misting but I'm pretty happy with out how this misting job turned out.  I used yellow lawn trimmings twine to create the long flamingo legs and the rest is just simple paper piecing.  Thanks for stopping by today!
