Happy Valentine's Day

Popping in with a quick post to share a valentine's card I made to play along with the current Lawnscaping Challenge.  I also made this card to give my grandmother for Valentine's Day.  She is in the hospital this week due to surgery she had on Sunday.  I am hoping she recovers quickly.

Here are the inspiration photos for this weeks challenge.  Although it's kind of small to see I recreated the hanging hearts that are at the top.

I clear embossed the hearts of teeny tiny backdrops on white cardstock then created the gradient using spun sugar, worn lipstick & festive berries distress inks.  The sentiment is embossed with red Zing embossing powder on vellum (it actually embossed better on vellum than regular cardsock, go figure).  I cut the small and large hearts using Papertrey Ink dies, and then free handed the middle size heart to fit between them. Finishing touch of red stickles & drawn red frame to finish it off.  I hope you all have a happy Valentine's day tomorrow.  I will be back tomorrow to share the card I made for my hubby! :)

Thanks for stopping by!

  2. um...ridiculously cute! LOVE the background!! wow!

  3. Soooo cute, Chari! That gradient background looks so awesome! :) I hope you and your guy had a great Valentine's day yesterday. Oh, and I sure hope your grandmother is feeling and good and recovering quickly!

  4. Chari.....this is sooo sweet, love the hearts hanging, great idea!!

  5. This is an absolutely GORGEOUS card and the gradient on your distress inks is FLAWLESS! Seriously, you NEED to do a video on this technique. I love distress inks, but I hardly ever use them because I can't seem to get this kind of smooth variegation. Love how you did it. Thanks so much for playing with us at Lawnscaping!

  6. Wow! I love the gradient background, it's really smooth and gorgeous!

  7. Gorgeous card. The background is amazing :)

Thanks for taking the time to brighten my day and leave a comment! I hope your day is bright too :)
