Pinterest Inspired

So if you haven't already checked out or used Pinterest then you are truly missing out.  I have always been one to save a pic from the internet of something that I liked or inspired me.  But the cool thing about Pinterest is you can share that with others too, and see things that inspire them.  It is so cool, and fun... and addicting!  So when I saw that Wee Memories was having a Pinterest/Etsy inspired challenge this week I thought I should try and put my pinning to good use!  Here is my card, I made it for a good friend who's birthday is next week.

And this is the pic from my pinterest catalog that I used for inspiration.  How cool is this beautiful yarn creation, I would love to hang it over my desk.

I chose this picture for both the shapes and colors, I think it makes a lovely yet simple composition.

To make this card I cut out various sizes of circles.  The Birthday cake stamp is from Lawn Fawn's Year One set and is embossed using clear embossing powder.  For the other circles I drew lines across them using a VersaMark marker, and on the cream circle I used Jenni Bowlin Malked Milk ink and one of the straight line stamps from Lawn Fawn's Bake me a Cake set.

Supplies:
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Year One, Hero Arts Cling Dots background stamp
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Jenni Bowlin Malted Milk, Versamark Watermark
Paper: Bazzill Cardstock (various colors), White rice paper
Other: Clear embossing powder, VersaMark Marker

Thanks for taking time to stop by my blog today.  Go check out pinterest if you haven't already.  Let me know if you need an invite!

CAS-ual Grad + Little Love Note

Hello my crafty friends! I hope you are all having a fabulous Memorial Day weekend.  I am, but a paid  holiday on Monday will put anyone in a good mood right?  Well yes, but especially me, because Monday is also my Brithday!  (paid day off is a pretty awesome B-day present) Hehe!  Anyway, I hope you all have some fun weekend plans going on.  Today Hubby and I went out and got some plants to plant outside our condo.  We also found a super cute red electric grill. We can't have a regular grill in our complex so we were super excited to find an electric one we liked and we are really looking forward to cooking on it this summer.  :)

Before I share my card I wanted to answer a couple questions from some previous posts.  Many of you asked how I adhered the vellum clouds I created on the Whale Grad Card and the Bon Voyage card (which can be found here and here).  I used the Vellum Adhesive Runner made by Thermoweb.  I think it works pretty well when you are unable to cover up your adhesive.  I also told you all I used two Lawn Fawn stamp sets on my Bon Voyage card (which can be found here).  If you guessed Smitty's as the second stamp set then you were right!  I used the brackets in Smitty's to make the squiggly birds off in the distance.  I thought it needed just a little small something else and then I had that "ah ha" moment!  I love those, anyway, on to the cards!

I had lots of fun playing along with CAS-ual Fridays last week so I just had to play along again.  This week's theme is Graduation.  I wanted to make a colorful card and remembered a card Britta made awhile back.  I liked her method of incorporating all those colors using only ink pads. You can check out her card here.  And here is mine.

I also wanted to share a quick little love note I made for my hubby, Matt.  I love the new Admit One set from Lawn Fawn!  Matt and I love the fair, we drive to the State fair every year for a little anniversary get away, although he does not like the ferris wheel.

Supplies:
Graduation Card
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Hats off to you, Paper Smooches Sentiment Sampler
Ink: Jenni Bowlin (Chewing Gum, Cough Syrup, Chicken Feed, Lemon Drop, Stick Candy, Seed Packet, Soap Powder, & Spice Tin

Love Note
Stamps: Lawn Fawn Admit One
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Jenni Bowlin Spice Tin
Other: Copics

I hope you all have a great weekend, go out and have some fun! :)

Farm Critters

Hey everyone, I'm really loving the new Lawn Fawn stamps.  I know the rest of you are too.  Yesterday I played with the newest critter set, Critters on the Farm.  The cute sentiments are just adorable. Paired with some October Afternoon patterned paper, this card is straight off the farm! :)

Yes! It's another polka dot card.  So I'm entering this one in the Lawnscapings Challenge #10 Polka Dot Frenzy before the Wednesday deadline.  I hope the rest of you are playing along too.

This card also plays along with the sketch challenge Lawn Fawn is sponsoring over at Lily Pad Cards, Lucy's Lovely Lines.  Here is the sketch, I changed my design up and flipped the sentiment banner and the embellishment.

And since this card is also full of Lawn Fawn stampy wonderful cuteness, I am entering it into the Wee Memories "Stamp It!" challenge this week too.

CAS + Graduation Time

Hello everyone, hope you all had a fabulous weekend.  I know I did, I had lots of time in what my husband has deemed "the craft cave" :) playing with some stamping goodies.  I finally played along with the new CAS-ual Friday challenge.  I missed the first couple because of vacation so I was glad I got to play this time.  This week's theme was "Bring the Bling" so I used my most favorite bling of all.... Glitter!!! Here is my yummy creation...

My photography wasn't so good on this one, not sure why, so you can see all the glittery goodness better in this close up shot of the cupcakes.

I wish I could make real cupcakes that looked that beautiful.  The other card I have to share is a graduation card I made for my cousin who just graduated college! So proud of her, even if she did attend a rival college, ahem Go Wolfpack :), and her graduating college make me feel old!  So here is the card I made for her.

I used my new wave die from My Favorite things and Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Sea.  This was my first time inking up these particular critters.  I really liked my vellum cloud technique from my bon voyage card so I used it again on this card too.

Polka, Polka, Polka Dots!

Aloha Friends! So I am back from tropical paradise, it was more rainy than normal, but we still had a fun Honeymoon.  I was super excited to see the theme for this week's Lawnscaping Challenge #10 - Polka Dot Frenzy, because well I love polka dots!  Seriously, I mean I had a polka dot wedding cake! :)

So here is my polka dot card, I decided to keep it simple so it didn't get too busy with all those cute dots!

The sentiment didn't show up as well as I had hoped but overall I am happy with it.  Thanks for stopping by my blog today.  Now that I am back from vacation I am ready to get crafting again!

Guest Designer + Party Time!

Hello all my crafty friends!  I haven't posted in awhile because life has been busy, so I figured I needed to post a few cards before leaving for vacation tomorrow.  The hubby and I are headed to Kauai, Hawaii tomorrow morning for our honeymoon, Yay!  We are so excited, I have never been before.  I am not looking forward to the plane ride however, talk about a long trip!  Anyway, today I have a few cards to share so I will get right to it.

My first card is for Card Patterns Sketch 114.  I was very excited to be a guest designer for card patterns this week, also this is my first Guest Designer spot ever! And finally my Mom asked me to make a card for her to give my grandmother for Mother's Day.  I made some mini rolled roses with my new My Favorite Things die for this card and I really like how it turned out.  I am also submitting this to Wee Memories because it has elements of this week's challenge (color, floral, ribbon & stamps).
