Cookin' up Cuteness

I wanted to make a card using my new  Hero Arts What's Cooking set and I decided to also play along with the sketch over at Card Patterns. I found this cute plaid easter ribbon at Michael's and thought it would be a perfect compliment for a cooking themed card.  I colored the stamps in with copics and cut the circles out with lacey circles nestabilities dies.  I lightly stamped the purple cardstock with Hero Arts Magical Background stamp and Colorbox Chalk Alabaster ink and distressed the edges using a distressing tool and Dusty Concord Distress Ink.  I finished off the card by tracing over the sentiment and around the other stamps with a Copic 'Atyou Spica' black glitter pen.

Whimsy & Sparkle

I took a break from wedding things to make a couple of cards today.  The first card features paper piecing which is both this week's Lawnscaping Challenge #4 and one of the Stamp It! Technique Week Challenges at Moxie Fab World.  I love the look of paper piecing.

a little birdie hello

For this card I used stamps from Lawn Fawn's Critters in the Burbs, Fly Free and Sophie's Sentiments.  I was inspired to use some distress inks after watching the first couple Distress Inks Lessons Britta has started on her blog.  I lucked out at Michael's today and all the ink pads were on sale! (40% off) So I picked up a couple more colors.  I used Broken China to stamp the swirl background (Hero Arts Magical Background) and distress the edges of light cardstock and Tea Dye to distress the background piece.  And I learned how to tie a bow! Yay!  I also used my new Copic 'atyou Spica' Glitter pens to outline the bird and sentiment.

For my second card I played along with the Get Sketchy #75 and Cupcake Challenge #130 "Cake 'n' Ice Cream".  Here is the Sketch from Get Sketchy...

cupcake sparkle

I just love using glitter, but I haven't use it in awhile so I thought this colorful cupcake could use some sparkle.  The birthday cupcake stamp is from Hero Arts, the sentiment from Lawn Fawn's Sophie's Sentiments and the tiny cupcake stamped for the background is from Stampin' Up!  I used Martha Stewart iridescent glitter for accents on the cupcake and my new Lacey Circles nestabilities die for the purple circle.

Lucky Dog

I have been itching to us some Lawn Fawn critters ever since I got them in the mail and I have finally gotten my chance, well to use one of them at least.  I made this card for the Get Sketchy Challenge #74.

I used the Lawn Fawn Sophie's Sentiments and Critters in the Burbs stamps.  The dog is colored with copics.  I attached the ribbon with Tim Holtz tiny attacher and used nestabilites label one to cut the patterned paper.  And here is the sketch my card is based on.

small thanks

A busy weekend kept me away from my crafting this past weekend.  We had a very successful evening of one act plays on Saturday night and between that and dress rehearsal and wedding things I stayed pretty busy.  But I did whip together some thank you cards for Matt to give to his two actors (it was his directorial debut!) The play was about two lobsters in a tank.  I don't have a lobster stamp, and we couldn't find any lobster embellishments either (apparently crabs are the only choice) so I tried to make the card as bubbly as possible.  Some scrap paper, circle punch and a little glitter pen and ta-da!

On another note, wedding planing is coming right along.  Today I finished up part of our wedding favors.  Now don't you just want to take one of these little jars of "milk" home with you! They are actually french vanilla jellybeans (19lbs of Jellybeans, wasn't that a fun package to get at work!) I cut out the little tags with my cuttlebug and used Lawn Fawn's Harold's ABC's for the lettering.

Chocolaty Love

Today I was feeling a little creatively blocked when I sat down at my desk. I think it was a "too many ideas so little time" kind of situation and I couldn't focus (I think the cold temperature outside and in my craft room didn't help either!  Brrr!).  So I decided to stick with something simple, and I am very happy with how this little card turned out.  I used lawn fawn's fly free stamp set, spellbinders nestabilites dies and the new Blossom Pink twine from the Twinery.

The theme of this week's Lawnscaping Challenge is "All About Love" and I think this card says this perfectly.  We should always remember to love life!  Even in the midst of stress, hardships or tragedy there is always light to be found if you remember to look for it.  I need that reminder sometimes too.

Lawnscaping Challenge #3

This card also uses the colors in this weeks CR84FN color challenge #14 with light pink, bright pink, and chocolate brown.  A great color combo by the way!  I wish this color photo didn't include all the chocolate goodness, it makes me want to eat some!

Thanks for stopping by and visiting.  I hope you have a beautiful day!

Bee Mine

I made a quick little card this morning that I wanted to share.  I finally had the chance to use my new Bannerific set from Lawn Fawn.  These little flags were the main reason I purchased this set, but I look forward to using the other banners for future cards to come. A new Sizzix valentine embossing folder, some pink sorbet twine from The Twinery, and a little bee sticker and Wah-La! A cute little valentine!

Three Cheers for Twine!

I finally got some twine from The Twinery!  YAY!  So of course I had to use it on some projects immediately.  I made two projects with my new colorful twine (I purchased the sampler pack because picking one color was just impossible), the first project is for the Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge #41 "Get Sketchy".

UPDATE:
I made Fab 4 at Wee Memories Scrappy Saturday Challenge!
Wow! Thanks for choosing my card!

I am still working on my goal to make a card with all the stamps in my Lawn Fawn My Silly Valentine set. I think the little bunny is just the cutest so I gave him a white flocked tail to enhance his cuteness!  My second card uses the colors for the CR84FN Color Challenge #13, Red, Aqua & Brown.

I wanted to do this challenge because lately one of my favorite color combos has been red and aqua, and of course everything is better with a little kraft brown thrown in!

I just bought my first set of Spellbinders Nestabilites dies, oh the possibilities, so of course I had to try them out on this card.  I can't wait to get some more shapes!  I love the idea of using a tiny clothes pin with the cute little socks.
