Lawnscaping Blog Hop: All About Red
Welcome to the 2nd Lawnscaping Blog Hop! So glad you are here hopping along with us. You should be arriving here from Cathy's blog where I'm sure she has wowed you with something amazing as always! Our theme for this hop is "All About RED" which I just love because Red happens to be my favorite color. The hop runs from Friday, December 9th through Sunday, December 11th. Be sure to comment on all of the blogs for more chances to win because there are lots of prizes up for grabs! The hop has some amazing sponsors, Lawn Fawn, Mold Muse and Whiskers Graphics! All the details can be found on the Lawnscaping Home Page (http://lawnscaping.blogspot.com) including the master list of hop participants in case you get lost along the way.
I have always loved the color red, but when I went off to college I found even more appreciation for the bold color. For those who may not know, I graduated from North Carolina State University, home of The Wolfpack! Hooowwlll (that's my little wolf howl, Karen will join me on that one). And our school colors are red and white. Perfect! I had sketched out this idea quite awhile ago and thought this hop would be the perfect place to bring it to life.
I turned the sweet little Lawn Fawn fox from Critters in the Forest into a wolf by eliminating the white end of her tail, gave her a little bow and made a spirited NCSU pendant for her. I made the scallop circle with red buttons by adhering them to a white cardstock circle cut slightly smaller than the overall size I wanted. I used a piece of red & white twisted rope from May Arts for the hanger then attached the front piece with foam adhesive in the center of the buttons. Another beautiful NC State ornament for my tree, I'm sure my East Carolina Pirate husband is less than thrilled. Hehe! I guess I better get to work on a purple and gold Pirate ornament soon. :)
The next fabulous designer on the hop is ISHA! Thanks for hopping by! :)
