The background paper is from October Afternoon's Modern Homemaker collection, I distressed it with Antique Linen Distress Ink. The Red frosting is also from the Modern Homemaker paper pad and I colored the cake stand with an Silver American Crafts Metallic Marker.
I kept the second card more simple and let the patterned paper do all the work. The piece I had left over had this great image at the bottom left so I just added my splash of color with the sentiment, ribbon & buttons. I added glossy accents to make the needle shiny.
I think they both turned out rather nice, sort of a different style than I usually create. But that was what I was going for actually. I will be entering these together at Lawnscaping because I think they should remain a pair. Thanks for popping in to check out my creations today!

LOVE the card with the cake! The red is such a perfect pop-color =)
